All Saints Day

The feast day of our Parish All Saints falls on Sunday 27 June this year.

This is a significant event for both our Parish and School, and as such, the day will be marked with a liturgy followed by a street fair and celebration. Our students will take centre stage with various performances; fun rides will be available, as well as face painting, food, many stalls and other community groups performances.

We acknowledge that this is in the middle of the winter break but we want to encourage you and your family to join us on the day to support our parish and school community. Events such as this are instrumental in forging the Cultural, Social, Spiritual connections at the core of our school philosophy. Through celebrations like this, our students learn the value of connectedness and sense of belonging which enhances the development of their personal identity.

This year we are in the fortunate position to welcome back students and parents and celebrate together the feast day All Saints.

We are requesting that students attend the Liturgy Service at 9.30am in full school uniform, no hats.

At the conclusion of the liturgy our students will present a variety of performances which include Greek Dancing and singing of various items from the commemoration of 1821 – ‘Χαίρε, ω χαίρε ελευθεριά!

We ask for your support by attending this significant event and look forward to celebrating All Saints feast Day together.

All Saints Parents Association (ASPA)

At the core of our School’s objectives to deliver a unique holistic education to our students, is the building of strong cultural, social, and community connections. The All Saints Parents Association (ASPA) is a vital part of this dimension of the school’s operation. Active ASPA members work to strengthen the bonds between the school and the parent community whilst supporting the mission and vision of our school.

The association organises ‘friend-raising’ and ‘fund-raising’ events. The aim of ASPA is to help build community engagement and partnerships between parents/carers and the All Saints Grammar community in the interest of creating the best possible environment for our students to learn and to grow. All parents and carers who join our school are, by default, ASPA members, but being an active participant in the Association is voluntary.

I write to all our parents to strongly encourage you to consider playing an active part in the life of our school. I understand that our busy lives means that we are often time poor, and the time we can each dedicate will vary. Nevertheless, I would like to invite you to get involved in whatever capacity you may be able to; all contributions no matter how small will assist us in achieving great things as a community. It would be wonderful to see more mums and dads join us in the work of our Association.

Our next ASPA meeting will be held on Monday 7 June, 2021 at 6:00pm in the Secondary Campus Library. We hope we can count on your support as we work to make our school an even better and stronger place to educate our children. I hope to see you there.

ASG Mid-Year Community Survey

As a School, we are constantly looking at ways in which we can improve our offering, so I encourage all families to complete our Mid-Year Survey. Thank you to those that have participated to date. Your responses will be extremely useful in our planning and will assist us to identify our priorities as we look toward the second half of 2021 and beyond.

The survey is anonymous and will be open until Friday 11 June. Please click here to be taken to the survey.

Student Reports

We are in the process of finalising Semester 1 reports for K-11 students after two terms of teaching and assessment of students’ progress.  Students’ Semester 1 reports will be emailed out to parents in Week 1 of the holiday break. It is most important that parents take the time to read through the reports with their children. Reports are a form of feedback about the progress made by your child as well as areas that may need further attention. Parents are encouraged to discuss matters arising from Semester 1 reports with their child’s teacher upon returning to Term 3.

Year 12 Holiday Lessons

As we do every year, we are preparing a schedule of lessons for Year 12 courses to take place during the coming three week break. Our teachers are very willing to make themselves available to run these revision and exam preparation lessons for our students. Students attending these revision lessons benefit greatly from the consolidation of knowledge this time allows for. For this reason, it is most important that students make themselves available to attend and take advantage of the additional time teachers are allocating to the concepts and skills covered in the various courses. A letter will be sent home next week detailing the schedule for the holiday workshops. Please ensure your child is available to attend.

May I take this opportunity to wish you a safe and relaxing winter break and look forward to welcoming you back on Tuesday 13 July for the commencement of Term 3.
