Sport Report – March 2026

It has been another busy and highly successful period for Sport at All Saints Grammar, with strong participation, excellent results, and outstanding school spirit displayed across both our Primary and Secondary programs.

Cross Country

Our Whole School Cross Country Carnival at Clemton Park was a tremendous success, with a very pleasing turnout across all year levels. The day was highlighted by the enthusiasm, resilience, and effort of all students, particularly our younger Primary students, who embraced the challenge and contributed to a fantastic atmosphere.

Following this event, Secondary students who placed in the top five of their respective age groups have qualified to compete at the SWISSA Cross Country Championships, hosted by Redeemer Baptist School on Friday 15 May. We wish all students the very best as they prepare for this event.

Swimming

In the pool, our Secondary students delivered an excellent performance at the SWISSA Swimming Championships, finishing an outstanding 2nd overall. This is a fantastic achievement and a testament to the commitment and effort of our swimmers.

Students who placed in the top two at SWISSA represented the association at the AICES Swimming Championships on Monday 30 March at Sydney Olympic Park Aquatic Centre. A special congratulations to Year 11 student Apostoli Bourdoulis, who placed 3rd in the 17 Boys 50m Breaststroke, earning selection in the AICES team to compete at CIS — a fantastic achievement. Apostoli also placed in the top 10 in both the 100m Freestyle and 50m Butterfly, highlighting his versatility across multiple events.

We also acknowledge Peter Baldas, who achieved a top 10 finish in the 50m Backstroke and an impressive 8th place in the 200m Freestyle final. Finishing in the top 10 at this level is a significant accomplishment, with each event typically featuring close to 20 competitors.

At the Primary level, our swim team proudly represented the school at the IPSHA Swimming Championships at Sydney Olympic Park Aquatic Centre. The team performed strongly against some of the top swimmers in New South Wales and demonstrated excellent sportsmanship throughout the day.

Our Primary swimmers competed at the Orthodox Swimming Championships at Des Renford Aquatic Centre, hosted by St Spyridon College on 31 March. At time of publication, results were not yet available but we have high hopes!

Football

On the field, our Senior Boys Football team has progressed to Round 2 of the Plate Competition after a hard-fought 3–2 victory over Al Zahra. It was a great display of determination and teamwork.

We are also pleased to report that our Under 15 Boys Bill Turner Cup team recorded a dominant 19–0 victory over Birrong Boys High School to progress to the next round of the competition. While such a scoreline is uncommon in football, it reflects the team’s strong performance on the day, and we look forward to seeing how they progress in the next round.

At the time of writing, our Junior Boys Football team were striving to secure an impressive third consecutive title against St Maroun’s College. Meanwhile, our Senior Girls team, undefeated this term, are set to face St Euphemia in the grand final of their competition. Our Junior Girls team will take on Redeemer Baptist School in a playoff for third place. We congratulate all teams on their efforts this season and wish them the very best in their upcoming matches.

At the Primary level, it has been a fantastic start to the summer sport season, with teams now three rounds into competition. Participation and enthusiasm have been excellent across all sports.

A special mention goes to our Junior Girls Football team and Junior OzTag team, who remain undefeated and have shown outstanding teamwork and skill in their matches so far.

It has also been particularly pleasing to see such a strong start to the cricket season, with many students participating in the sport for the first time. The same can be said for softball and tee ball, where students have embraced new challenges and developed their skills with confidence.

Basketball

Our basketball teams have also impressed this term. While the competition remains mixed overall, a new structure has been introduced where quarters are split into boys versus boys and girls versus girls. This has been a positive development, providing greater opportunity for participation and skill development, compared to previous seasons where games were fully mixed, like OzTag.

NSE

Finally, NSE teams will be finalised soon, with further information to be communicated to all squad members in preparation for next term’s events.

Overall, it has been a fantastic period of sport at All Saints Grammar. We congratulate all students on their effort, participation, and achievements, and thank our staff and coaches for their continued dedication and support of school sport.
