Sport Report -February 2026

It has been a vibrant and action-packed start to the term across both our Primary and Secondary campuses. Fields, courts and pools have been buzzing with energy as students eagerly trialled, trained and competed in a wide range of sports. The enthusiasm, teamwork and school spirit on display have been outstanding, setting a fantastic tone for the season ahead.

Primary Sport

Trials for IPSSO sport were conducted in the first two weeks of term, with students competing for selection in the following teams: Girls Football, Mixed Oz Tag, Mixed Teeball and Softball, Basketball and Cricket, across Junior (Under 10) and Senior (Under 13) age groups.

Competition officially commenced this week with our teams travelling away to Thomas Hassall Anglican School. Congratulations to our Junior Cricket team, Junior Girls Football team, and both Oz Tag teams on their tremendous start to the season. A sincere congratulations to all students who were selected in teams and represented the school with enthusiasm and effort on the day.

In addition, our non-competitive sport program run by Forever Fit Kids continues to provide students with valuable opportunities to develop and refine their skills in a supportive environment. These sessions focus on participation, confidence and skill development, helping students prepare for future team selections while fostering a lifelong enjoyment of sport.

We also recently held our Primary Swimming Championships at Angelo Anestis Pool. It was a fantastic day of spirited competition and house pride. Congratulations to Macedonia House, who narrowly defeated Attica House by just 6 points in a gripping finish. Well done to all students who participated and contributed to a wonderful carnival atmosphere.

Secondary Sport

At the Secondary campus, NSE trials have taken place, with final team selections to be confirmed next week.

Our CIS Cup Football teams played their opening round fixtures against St Ignatius’ College Riverview (Boys) and Danebank (Girls). The boys’ match was particularly challenging, played in extreme heat. Both teams showed strong passages of play and great determination but were ultimately defeated by quality opposition.

SWISSA sport has also commenced, with all Basketball teams making a positive start in their respective divisions. Our Indoor Cricket team is preparing for their first match next week.

Upcoming events

We are also looking forward to several major upcoming events:

  • Secondary Swimming Carnival – 6 March at Roselands Aquatic Centre
  • SWISSA Swimming Carnival – 13 March (students qualify through the Secondary Carnival)
  • Annual Cross Country (Years 3–12) – Monday 16 March at Clemton Park
