Reflections on 2025

The end of a school year provides a moment for reflection, gratitude and celebration. I have been impressed by the achievements, effort, perseverance and growth that have shaped this academic year.

I know our students are feeling tired and ready for break. As they reflect on the year that has been, I want them to remember that every early morning training session, every late-night study sprint, every rehearsal, every courageously delivered speech, every win, every loss, every setback and every comeback has brought them to this moment. Whether they stood on a stage, represented us on a field, solved a problem in the classroom, or simply tried again when things felt too hard – that is success. That is learning. That is character.

The most important achievements in life are not always printed on certificates. Some victories are quiet – conquering a fear, persevering when you wanted to give up, apologising when it was difficult, or choosing kindness when it wasn’t expected. Those moments matter. We see them. I am confident that each of of our students is an embodiment of the aspiration we have for them: “to be the best version of themselves; to strive for excellence in all that they do; to be individuals who appreciate the value of knowledge and education; who are inspired global thinkers who use our faith as their moral compass, and in doing so understand the importance of exercising ambassadorship with compassion, courage and justice.

This aspiration can only be made real through the work of our teachers and school staff; so I wish to thank my dear colleagues. Their commitment is not something that can be measured by hours or job descriptions. They give our students far more than lessons. They provide belief when self-belief is shaky, reassurance when anxiety creeps in, and direction when choices feel confusing. Our staff lift children every day – and they do it with heart, expertise, humour and unwavering professionalism.

At the core of our school success, is partnership with parents. I’d like to acknowledge our All Saints Parents Association and thank them for the countless hours they have dedicated to building community, often without spotlight or applause. Events do not simply appear; volunteers make them happen. Their work throughout the year has strengthened our school family and has contributed to the betterment of our school.

Parents and caregivers, thank you for entrusting us with your children and for partnering with us in their growth. We walk beside you, not instead of you. Partnership means supporting young people together by celebrating them when they rise, guiding them when they stumble, and helping them learn to take responsibility for their choices.

Thank you to our Board of Directors and to our Chair, Mr Ulysses Ntoumbos for their unwavering support of the school’s leadership, their clarity of vision and their commitment to ensuring everything we do serves the best interests of our students, staff and community.

This year has also brought significant leadership transitions.

We farewell Mrs Aristea Synesios, who has led the Primary School with dedication, wisdom and deep affection for students and families. We thank Mrs Synesios wholeheartedly for her service to our community.

We warmly welcome Mrs Natalie Weston as our new Director of Primary. Mrs Weston is a passionate educator who brings courage, clarity and a steadfast belief in the potential of every child. We look forward with excitement to Mrs Weston joining our school leadership team.

We also celebrate the return of Mr Jaime Rodriguez as Deputy Head of School, who will oversee and lead Pedagogy and Curriculum across our PK–12 school. His return reflects something fundamental to who we are – we are not two schools, we are one school. One identity. One learning journey. One purpose.

The idea of a singular school has been central to my leadership from the beginning – not just PK–12 in language, but PK–12 in action and in deed. With the leadership team now in place, I know our united vision will continue to grow even stronger.

Our philosophy, “A Better Person, a Better Learner,” remains our compass.

We want our students to think deeply, to work hard, to achieve excellence. More importantly however, we want them to grow as good human beings, to be compassionate, resilient, humble, respectful, courageous and kind, because success without character is fragile, but character sustains success.

Our values of Faith, Excellence and Respect guide our decisions, our expectations and our culture. In a world shaped by social media, comparison and constant noise, young people need anchors more than ever: faith, family, responsibility, truth, empathy and gratitude.

We value our partnerships with you, our parents. Partnership is guiding. Celebrating effort. Encouraging responsibility. Teaching our children to take ownership of their choices – whether those choices lead to reward or to consequences.

A heartfelt and very special thank you to His Eminence Archbishop Makarios, our Spiritual Father and a staunch supporter of All Saints Grammar. His unwavering belief in the importance of Orthodox education inspires our mission and strengthens our resolve. We are deeply grateful for his love, leadership and pastoral guidance.

I extend our sincere appreciation to our Parish Priest and School Chaplain, Father Dimitrios. His spiritual leadership, pastoral support and generosity of heart continue to nurture the faith and wellbeing of our students, staff and families. We are truly blessed by his presence and the love he shows our community.

Thank you for another remarkable year. I am proud of what we have achieved, and even more inspired by what lies ahead.

I wish you all a blessed Christmas and a safe, joy-filled holiday break. May 2026 be filled with health, happiness and growth for us all.
