This year has been outstanding for our school’s Chess Program, with many students demonstrating impressive commitment, growth, and sportsmanship. Chess continues to provide valuable opportunities for students to develop strategic thinking, patience, resilience, and the ability to stay calm under pressure, being skills that benefit them both academically and personally.

In 2025, we were proud to field chess teams across all year groups from Year 7 to Year 12, showcasing the interest in our program. Our students competed with maturity and enthusiasm throughout the season, going up against strong teams from Newington College, Sydney Grammar School, Sydney Technical High School, Meriden School, and Fort Street High School. Each match challenged our students to think critically, adapt under pressure, and support one another, truly reflecting the spirit of our school community.

The growth our players demonstrated across the year is a testament to their dedication, teamwork, and love for the game.

We extend our sincere thanks to all staff who contributed to the success of the program, in particular Ms Kane and Ms Genua, for their ongoing support and encouragement.

We congratulate them and the entire ASG Chess Team for their achievements in 2025 and we look forward to seeing the continued growth of our chess program in 2026.
