ASG Sports Wrap Up

ASG took the field by storm as we proudly sent a squad of talented young athletes to represent the school at the highly anticipated IPSHA Primary Athletics Carnival. With a display of exemplary sportsmanship, determination, and impeccable teamwork, these young athletes embodied the true spirit of ASG.

There was a commendable performance by the Senior Boys Football Team, which not only qualified but also competed in the IPSSO finals. The boys tried their best and although they may not have won, the 2023 season will be remembered as a resounding success for all involved. ASG couldn’t be prouder of these exceptional players and their remarkable efforts. They’ve not only showcased their sporting prowess but also represented the school with class and determination, setting a shining example for their peers.

Well done to the Senior Athletics Squad who participated in the AICES athletics carnival at Sydney Olympic Park Athletics Centre. Our students represented ASG via our SWISSA pathway at the event in order to gain selection to the AICES team.  Congratulations to William Hadjia who made the AICES team for High Jump. William qualified for the CIS carnival and finished 5th overall at the CIS event. A wonderful effort for a student who is still relatively new to the event.

Congratulations to our Junior and Senior Girls Netball Teams, as well as the Open Girls Oztag and Junior and Senior Oztag Teams, all of whom reached the semi-finals. The junior netballers reached the grand final, showcasing their exceptional skills and teamwork.

In Futsal, the under-12 boys made it to the semi-finals of the Menai Football NSW Regional Futsal Championships, while the under-14 boys reached the finals. ASG now eagerly anticipates the upcoming Term 4 SWISSA Trials and Finals. Stay tuned for more updates as ASG continues to shine brightly in the world of sports.
