This term has been filled with exciting sporting achievements for ASG students across both Primary and Secondary campuses. Our students have shown exceptional skill, team spirit, and resilience in a variety of competitions.

Highlights include the Primary and Secondary Swimming Championships, where Macedonia and Attica emerged victorious, respectively. Our Year 12 students showed great school spirit, and Primary students performed exceptionally at the IPSHA Swimming event at Sydney Olympic Park Aquatic Centre. While the Orthodox Swimming competition was postponed, we will provide updates once a new date is confirmed.

ASG’s Secondary Swimming team finished 2nd overall, with several students advancing to the AICES level. Special congratulations to Elijah Psomas, who will represent ASG at the CIS Championships on May 5.

In competitive sports, both Primary and Secondary teams have been excelling across a range of sports. Primary teams have been strong in Girls’ Football, Oz Tag, Basketball, Softball, Tee Ball, and Cricket, with impressive performances all around. Secondary teams have been competing in the SWISSA Basketball finals, with both the Junior Boys and Senior Boys teams reaching the final week.

The Under 16 Boys’ and Girls’ Futsal teams participated in the St George Region Football NSW Futsal competition, with the Girls’ team showing great skill and the Boys’ team finishing as runners-up after a close 2-1 loss in the final.

Our younger teams, including Under 14s, Under 12s, and Under 10s, are gearing up for next term’s tournaments, and we are excited to see them build on their foundations.

A major highlight was the ASG Football Cup, where both the Boys’ and Girls’ teams won their respective shields. This competition also served as the selection process for the SWISSA AICES teams, with final selections to be announced soon.

Finally, we extend our gratitude to all staff and students involved in the selection process for the Greek Orthodox National School Event teams. ASG will be heading to Perth in May for this national competition, and we are confident our students will represent the school with pride.
