Term 2 was fast-paced and enriching, featuring a range of stimulating interest-based topics and hands-on learning experiences that deeply engaged our students. In the Rainbow Room, the exploration of, “Terrific Transport” and “Things That Go” allowed students to investigate various modes of transport, including trucks, trains, airplanes, cars, and boats. Using loose parts, construction materials, and creative resources, students explored the design, function, and movement of these vehicles.

The Sunshine Room’s term topic, “To Infinity and Beyond,” focused on space exploration. Students embarked on an educational journey through the solar system, learning about rockets, astronauts, and the eight planets. Factual and creative resources were coupled with collaborative play, fostering curiosity and expanding students’ knowledge of space concepts.

Throughout the term, explicit teaching was complemented by a play-based learning approach, which nurtured the development of problem-solving, critical thinking, creative expression, oral language, and physical coordination. This blend of structured and exploratory learning effectively supported children’s academic and personal growth.

In addition to their academic enrichment, students participated in a faith-based incursion to All Saints Church, where they learned about God, liturgical practices, and the role of Saints. Father Dimitrios and Mrs Synesios guided the children in understanding the significance of religious symbols, such as icons and the Thimiato, and the importance of lighting a candle upon entering the Church. They also explored the role of Saints as God’s special friends who watch over us and reinforced the value of prayer in fostering a loving relationship with God.

PreKinder’s program aligns with All Saints Grammar’s Better Person, Better Learner philosophy, providing a holistic approach to teaching and learning that nurtures academic, spiritual, and physical development. This unique integrated approach ensures that students grow into well-rounded individuals.
