The beginning of Semester 2 marked the celebration of our School’s 30 year anniversary. What better way of marking such a momentous historical achievement than with the blessing and official opening of our new Primary Campus playground on Thursday 23 July 2020.
The story of All Saints Grammar began thirty years ago. From very humble beginnings, a group of visionary pioneers began the crafting of the first pages of the book that formed the initial chapters of our school’s history. With the support of many people, some of whom honoured us with their presence at the official opening, we witnessed the completion of yet another significant chapter in a book that continues to grow and evolve.
Our school’s story continues to be written by everyone who contributes to its growth in the name of preserving the values of our faith, nurturing the richness of our Hellenic culture, and the promotion of high levels of education.
In the context of our School’s educational program, this new space is part of our approach to promote the holistic development of every student under our care. This playground is a place where our students learn socialisation skills, respect for one another and their environment, as well as the value of physical health. They learn, they play, they grow up as well-rounded individuals.
Our beautiful new green area at our Primary Campus can be described as a story in itself; it has been a long time coming. Making this outdoor learning area, our new playground, a reality for our students, has involved a significant investment on the School’s part. Up to this point, the estimated cost of this project is just over $1.7million.
As such, this chapter in our story would not have been possible without the support of many generous members of our community.
A special mention to the major donors for their valuable contribution to this project:
• All Saints Parents Association (ASPA) who raised over $90K
• Peter and Stuart Englezos, Brobrik Construction
• Angelo Candalepas, Candalepas Associates
• George Giannaros, Carrington Electrical Services
• Nick Georgopoulos, Compass Certifications
• John Rafeletos, Rafeletos & Zanuttini Engineering.
Our students, present and future, thank you for trusting what we do as a School and for supporting us in carving the path for future growth.
Our playground was Blessed and officially opened by our beloved Archbishop, His Eminence, Archbishop Makarios, Primate of the Greek Orthodox Church in Australia. We appreciate the love our spiritual father showed us by making the time to be with us on this important day and we value his spiritual guidance and leadership.
To our dear students, we offer this gift to you on the year of our 30th anniversary.
I encourage you to value and appreciate what you have been given. See this open space as an expression of the love given to you by the All Saints Grammar community. Look after it, respect it, share it thoughtfully. Make it a place of fun and enjoyment; a place where long lasting friendships can be formed, and where wonderful memories can be created.
