At the core of what our school aims to achieve for our all our students is the development of a better person and better learner. With our approach to teaching and learning is guided by our pillars of Faith, Excellence and Respect, students have the environment to learn to the very best of their ability.

We are committed to creating and sustaining an educational environment where we aspire to a gold standard via the drivers of our school philosophy: Intellectual rigour, Character values, Emotional balance and Cultural, social, spiritual connection.

Our school’s journey over the last thirty years, has been one of continuous evolution, aimed at providing students with an excellent educational experience, informed the strong foundations of the Hellenic culture of which we are part. We promote and stand by Christian values cemented in the ethos of the Greek Orthodox Faith. Through this journey we have developed and honed a unique holistic teaching approach which ensures every student is nurtured to not only achieve academic success but also the emotional and social stability required as they grow. As an organisation, we are organic in our efforts to embrace change that will enhance that probability of achieving our goal for every student, that is, providing every student with a world class holistic education that empowers them to become responsible, ethical, and conscientious citizens, ready to make a positive contribution to our society.

Striving for excellence at the highest standard is an ongoing process. For that reason, our school is embarking on the exciting endeavour to introduce the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IB) into our school. The IB is an internationally recognised programme that offers schools a well-supported and highly rigorous educational pathway to ensure that every student is challenged to understand the relevance of their learning journey as part of a global community.

Put simply, the IB can be described in this way:

The International Baccalaureate aims to develop inquiring, knowledgeable and caring young people who help to create a better and more peaceful world through intercultural understanding and respect.

To this end the organization works with schools, governments and international organizations to develop challenging programmes of international education and rigorous assessment.

These programmes encourage students across the world to become active, compassionate and lifelong learners who understand that other people, with their differences, can also be right.

IB, 2019

We see great potential in the IB as it aligns very closely with the vision of our school. At its various stages, the IB will inform our practice and it will continue to add a focused direction to the continuous improvement of the teaching and learning that we provide our students.

We will begin the introduction of Primary Year Programme (PYP) in 2021. Throughout the year, our teachers will engage in professional development, wherefrom our teaching programs will be imbued with exciting learning experiences to promote the acquisition of deep learning for all students.

Given how compatible of our school’s current approach to education is with the IB programme, we are expecting a seamless immersion into this new stage. The benefits will be primarily evident on the pace with which we can realise the aspirations we have for every student at our school.

The learner profile we strive for at our school is described by the IB in the following way:

We are confident that this programme, will enhance the quality of our school’s educational offerings, and it will add value to every student’s learning. We look forward to sharing this exciting process with you in the new year.
