Lily Pete (Dorothy Gale)
What is your role in The Wizard of Oz?
I will be playing Dorothy and dancing in the jitterbug number.
What part of the show (or the lead up to the show) are you looking forward to the most?
I’m looking forward to performing the show on the stage and seeing the show come to life.
What is your favourite scene from The Wizard of Oz and why?
My favourite scene from the Wizard of Oz is the munchkin scene. When I watch it, the scene teleports me to this mystical and magical land where I feel like I’m in the movie.
If you could spend an hour with anyone from the original cast, who would you choose and why?
If I could spend an hour with any of the original cast, I would spend it with Judy Garland and ask for advice on how I can best turn into Dorothy and how to play the role better.
If you had to be a character from The Wizard of Oz, who would you choose and why?
If I could play another character in the Wizard of Oz, I would probably choose the Wicked Witch because I really like the emotion and sass that is portrayed through the character.
Who is your acting hero and why?
One of my acting heroes is Danny Devito, because he directs and acts in the same movies and I think that’s really cool. I love the idea of being a director and being in charge, but I also love acting and I wouldn’t want to give it up. It’s nice to know that you can do both and be successful (as Danny Devito has proven).
Claudia Saffo (The Guard)
What is your role in The Wizard of Oz?
My role is The Guard with Rose.
What part of the show (or the lead up to the show) are you looking forward to the most?
I am looking forward to the night and just the whole thing – it is so exciting.
What is your favourite scene from The Wizard of Oz and why?
I think my favourite scene is probably the Emerald City. I also like the Over the Rainbow scene.
If you could spend an hour with anyone from the original cast, who would you choose and why?
Probably Dorothy (Judy Garland), because she is so pretty and kind.
If you had to be a character from The Wizard of Oz, who would you choose and why?
The Guard.
Who is your acting hero and why?
I don’t have one, but I really like Adam Sandler.
Emma Tzimoulas (Lead Munchkin)
What is your role in The Wizard of Oz?
My role in The Wizard of Oz is a Lead Munchkin.
What part of the show (or the lead up to the show) are you looking forward to the most?
I am looking forward to the dress rehearsal because it is exciting to see everyone in their costumes and playing their part in the show.
What is your favourite scene from The Wizard of Oz and why?
I love the scene when the Lion sings If I only had a Heart and the first scene with the farmhands.
If you could spend an hour with anyone from the original cast, who would you choose and why?
If I could spend an hour with someone from the original cast of the WOZ, I would choose the Lion because the actor is so funny.
If you had to be a character from The Wizard of Oz, who would you choose and why?
If I were to be one character in the WOZ, I would choose the Wicked Witch because it would be fun to play the character.
Who is your acting hero and why?
If I could choose out of any performer, I would choose Tom Holland because he is so funny and I love his personality in movies and in real life. I also admire how he puts on his character so well.
Sophia Villas (Toto)
What is your role in The Wizard of Oz?
I will be playing Toto.
What part of the show (or the lead up to the show) are you looking forward to the most?
I’m excited about rehearsals and the beginning of the show.
What is your favourite scene from The Wizard of Oz and why?
The jitterbug scene because the song seems fun.
If you could spend an hour with anyone from the original cast, who would you choose and why?
I would spend time with Glinda the good witch because I would get to know more about Oz.
If you had to be a character from The Wizard of Oz, who would you choose and why?
Toto, because it’s fun and you get to use your face to express your emotions, not your words.
Who is your acting hero and why?
Olivia Rodrigo. She is a teen actress, makes music and has starred in shows like High School Musical: The Musical: The Series and Bizaardvark. She expresses emotions that you can feel straight away when she acts.
Rose Vlahonikolou (The Guard)
What is your role in The Wizard of Oz?
My part in the play is The Guard with Claudia.
What part of the show (or the lead up to the show) are you looking forward to the most?
I am looking forward to the performance night and the practice day the most, because it gets me really excited about performing.
What is your favourite scene from The Wizard of Oz and why?
My favourite scene from the Wizard of Oz is probably the Emerald City scene, when Claudia and I walk Dorothy and her friends around Emerald City.
If you could spend an hour with anyone from the original cast, who would you choose and why?
I would spend an hour with July Garland because she played the biggest part in Wizard of Oz.
If you had to be a character from The Wizard of Oz, who would you choose and why?
I would like to be any part that is really fun to play and really uses my expressions.
Who is your acting hero and why?
I have many acting heroes, including Jenna Ortega, because she has acting since she was quite young, and Maddie Ziegler, because she has played some harsh and true roles.
