Wellbeing Report - October 2024
As we are well into Term 4, the All Saints Grammar Wellbeing Team remains committed to fostering a supportive and nurturing environment for all students. Our focus continues to be on promoting positive mental health, social-emotional development, and community engagement. This term brings a series of exciting initiatives and events aimed at further enhancing our school’s wellbeing programs.
Upcoming events and initiatives
1. Year 7 Orientation Program
As we welcome incoming Year 7 students, the Wellbeing Team will play an active role in their orientation to ensure a smooth transition into secondary school. Our program will include activities designed to build friendships, familiarise students with the school environment, and instil a sense of belonging from the outset.
There will be specific sessions on developing a growth mindset and learning strategies to manage the changes that come with starting high school. Current students will also be involved as peer mentors to guide and support the newcomers.
2. Annual Christmas Appeal
The school community will once again come together to participate in the Christmas Appeal, supporting families in need during the holiday season. This year’s appeal will focus on collecting gifts and essential items, which will be distributed through local charities.
The Wellbeing Team will facilitate workshops for students, emphasizing the importance of empathy, generosity, and community service. Students will have opportunities to contribute, pack donations, and learn about the broader impact of their actions.
3. Support for the Mother Maria of Paris Greek Orthodox Mission
Continuing our long-standing relationship with the Mother of Maria organisation, the Wellbeing Team will help coordinate fundraising activities and awareness campaigns. The organisation provides essential support for disadvantaged communities, and we are proud to be part of their mission.
Students will have the chance to get involved in planning events, raising funds, and understanding more about the causes supported by Mother of Maria. This involvement fosters a sense of social responsibility and encourages students to give back.
4. End of year Activities Day
Secondary Campus: An Activities Day has been scheduled to take place at the end of this term. Years 7 to 11 students will attend The Tops Conference Centre and will be transported by bus to and from Stanwell Tops. The centre provides a range of outdoor activities that are challenging and fun.
Ongoing programs and focus areas
1. Pastoral Program: Respectful Relationships
Our Pastoral Program will continue to place a strong emphasis on Respectful Relationships. Through structured lessons and workshops, students will explore topics such as consent, conflict resolution, and healthy friendships. The program aims to equip students with the skills needed to maintain positive, respectful interactions both within and outside the school.
Weekly sessions will include role-playing scenarios, guided discussions, and activities that reinforce key values such as kindness, active listening, and empathy.
2. Study Skills Workshops
To support students in excelling in their end-of-year assessments and examinations, the Wellbeing Team will be running a series of study skills workshops. These workshops will cover effective study strategies, time management, and stress reduction techniques, equipping students with the tools they need to approach their studies with confidence.
The sessions will be tailored to different year levels, ensuring that all students receive relevant advice and support to help them perform at their best during this important period.
As we approach the end of the school year, the Wellbeing Team is committed to ensuring that all students feel supported, connected, and prepared for the future. We encourage the entire school community to participate actively in the upcoming events and initiatives, as together, we can continue to foster a culture of kindness, resilience, and positive relationships at All Saints Grammar.
We look forward to a successful Term 4, filled with opportunities for growth, giving, and learning.
