MESSAGE FROM THE HEAD OF SCHOOL

Χριστός Ανέστη! I hope everyone had a wonderful Easter and a restful break. May the Feast of the Holy Resurrection of Our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ fill our lives with peace and hope. It is wonderful to see students and teachers back in their learning environment with Term Two well underway.

Covid-19 Update

In everyone’s interest, we continue to take every precaution to remain safe and healthy. As much as restrictions may have been eased by government authorities, the reality of Covid-19 and its impact continues to be felt across the community.

All Saints Grammar is operating under COVID-smart measures that have been developed with NSW Health to minimise transmission and keep our students learning with minimum disruption.

We encourage families to continue to monitor for symptoms and if your child is unwell or displaying flu-like symptoms we ask that you keep them at home.

Surveillance Testing
If a test result is POSITIVE, parents must notify NSW Health, through the Service NSW App, and they must also notify the School. A student with a positive result must isolate for 7 days, and are able to return to school on the 8th day. Masks are recommended for students and staff who have recovered from COVID-19, completed their 7-day isolation period and are no longer showing symptoms, for an additional 3 days (from days 8 – 10 after receiving a positive COVID-19 result).

If students live with someone who has COVID-19 or is a close contact of a positive case, the student must test daily for 7 days. Students who are close contacts can continue to attend school provided they test negative and display no symptoms. Additional Rapid Antigen Tests will be distributed to students Monday 16 May.

Please continue to remind your children about good hygiene habits throughout the day.
For more information on COVID-19 please visit the NSW Health website https://www.health.nsw.gov.au/

Thank you for your anticipated support.

Liturgy Sunday 29 May Invitation to Kindergarten – Year 2 and Year 8

At the core of our philosophy, is the spiritual connection to our Orthodox faith which provides our students with a sense of belonging and a strong sense of identity. Please join us for liturgy on Sunday 29 May at 9.30am. We ask students attending this liturgy to wear School Uniform. Please note that while this liturgy and others scheduled each month are not compulsory, we strongly encourage parents to support us with this initiative by making the necessary arrangements for their children to attend.

All Saints Grammar’s Production of The Wizard of OZ

Thank you to the staff, students and families of All Saints Grammar for bringing together the spectacular production of The Wizard of Oz. This was a momentous occasion brought to life after rehearsals started back in 2020. Despite the challenges of the current pandemic, staff and students persisted for the opportunity to finally showcase their tremendous talent and creativity. I thank everyone who showed their support and attended on the evening and acknowledge the presence of His Grace Bishop Christodoulos representing His Eminence Archbishop Makarios of Australia.

Events of this magnitude do not happen without the hard work of a team of people. It would take too long to name them all in this message, but I must acknowledge the dedication and commitment shown by Mr Philip Lombardo, Mr Brad Carroll, Ms Carmel Hurst, Ms Katrina Allen, and Ms Rebecca Sims who, with the support of many other staff, managed to bring production to its final realisation.

Photos from the event will soon be shared on the school’s Facebook page.

Discovery Tour at the Secondary Campus Wednesday 18 May

We are delighted to invite our Primary School families from Year 3 to Year 6 to join us for a Discovery Tour at our Secondary Campus. During the evening, parents will have an opportunity to meet our Secondary teachers and tour our premises. We are certain that parents will gain valuable insights from the experiences of both the present and past students of our school about their future academic journey at All Saints Grammar. Families would have received an email invitation to this event. We hope to see you at our Secondary Campus.

Elephant Ed Workshops

I thank the many parents who attended the Parent Webinars on Monday 2 May and Monday 9 May. The webinars introduced the series of workshops we will be running with Elephant Ed for all students in Stage 3 to Stage 6. These workshops will deal with sensitive issues such as Puberty and Online Safety. Information from these webinars has been sent to parents. We are certain that these workshops, which will take place during Term 2 and Term 3, will be of benefit to all our students.
