2024 Cultural Tour of Greece

16 September to 4 October 2024

During the last two weeks of Term 3 and the first week of the September school holidays, 16 students from Years 10 and 11 embarked on the All Saints Grammar inaugural cultural tour of Greece. They were accompanied by Mr Panagiotou, Mrs Koutavas and Mr Varvaressos.

For three weeks the students travelled the length and breadth of Greece, visiting Athens, Thessaloniki, Chalkidiki, Vergina, Veria, Meteora, Delphi, Mycenae, Epidaurus, Sparti, Monemvasia, Santorini and Crete. They were immersed in the historical, religious and cultural heritage of Greece, they marvelled at its natural beauty, they embraced the beautiful traditions of Greece and experienced its culinary delights and the warm hospitality of its people.

Students were guided through many significant monuments and sites by their learned teachers and some very knowledgeable local tour guides. Students gained an appreciation of Greece’s history and culture many aspects of Greek life, expanding their knowledge and understanding.

This trip was also an opportunity for students to create stronger friendships and create memories that they will treasure for a lifetime. Congratulations to Mr Panagiotou for the immense amount of work that he carried out in coordinating and being the driving force behind this trip, ably assisted by Mrs Koutavas and Mr Varvaressos. We hope that this successful tour is the beginning of many such tours that will provide unique learning experiences for our students and opportunities for personal growth.
