In May, a dedicated group of All Saints Grammar students and staff travelled to Perth to participate in the 2025 Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of Australia National Schools Event (GOAANSE). This annual gathering of Greek Orthodox schools from across Australia was hosted this year by St Andrew’s Grammar and provided a remarkable opportunity for students to connect through sport, culture and shared heritage.

Over the course of three full days, students competed in a variety of events including basketball, volleyball, soccer, drama, and performance. The atmosphere was one of camaraderie and celebration, with students not only striving for success but forging friendships, embracing cultural pride, and showing true team spirit.

We are proud to share the outstanding results achieved by our students:

• Boys Futsal – 1st place
• Boys Football – 2nd place
• Boys Volleyball – 2nd place
• Girls Football – 3rd place
• Girls Volleyball – 3rd place
• All Saints Grammar overall – 3rd place

Each competition was marked by determination and focus, and regardless of the result, every student demonstrated resilience, good sportsmanship, and respect for their fellow competitors. Wins were celebrated with humility, and defeats were accepted with grace and maturity – a reflection of the values we strive to instil in all our students.

Equally important was the strong cultural component of the event. The opportunity to share in the traditions of our Hellenic heritage through performance, prayer and connection with peers made this a meaningful experience that extended beyond competition. Events like GOAANSE provide a powerful reminder of the richness of our community and the importance of celebrating both individual and collective identity.

We extend our sincere thanks to the staff who accompanied and supported our students throughout the trip. Their organisation, encouragement, and pastoral care were essential to ensuring that the experience was both smooth and memorable.

As we reflect on a successful and inspiring GOAANSE 2025, we also look forward to doing it all again in 2026.
