ASG TEACHER PROFILE: MR PETER TSITSOS

I have been teaching at All Saints Grammar for over six years in the area of Technology, Design and Technology and Engineering Studies, and I am also the Academic Leader of STEM at the Secondary Campus.

My teaching background is diverse as I first taught as an Industrial Arts Teacher, as it was then known, in the State system for over four years. I then moved into the Catholic Systemic school system where I worked as a TAS Teacher and Coordinator for over 20 years before arriving at All Saints Grammar. During this time, I also trained and gained commercial cookery qualifications which have assisted me when teaching Food Technology.

What I find most rewarding about teaching at All Saints Grammar is that it is a school with a strong sense of community, and I enjoy making a positive impact in our community. The students are like a part of my family, and I am always trying to find ways to make their education a valuable and enjoyable experience so they can go on to achieve their own educational and career ambitions.

My proudest accomplishment is having a positive rapport with my students and having a positive impact on their studies and achievements. I have guided many students through STEM-based challenges such as the annual Solar Car events which our students have experienced great success in at both the State and National levels.

I see teaching as being one of the most important careers. Teachers can make a real difference and have an impact on a student’s life by caring for and supporting them during their education. As important as technology is, it will never replace teacher-student interaction which assists the young people in our care in their development and educational journey.
