Battle of Crete 75th Anniversary

This year marks the 75th Anniversary of the Battle of Crete, where Australians and Cretans fought together, side by side, in the battle against the oppressive Nazi German Regime in WWII. To honour this historic campaign, the President of Greece has allowed some members of his Presidential Guard to travel to Australia for the first time. The ‘Evzones’ guards took part in the Battle of Crete Remembrance Service on the weekend and will play a role in the traditional ANZAC Day parade to be held on the 25th April. Students from ASG had the honour of being in attendance and performing both the Australian and the Greek National Anthems on Saturday at the Remembrance Service.
